The Enemies sing “The Countdown” in support of the hospitality industry- La Guia GO!

Estrella Galicia brings together ‘Los Enemigos’ to encourage the bars in the return of consumers

Estrella Galicia has started a campaign to support the hospitality industry in which it has turned the emblematic theme “The Countdown” of the Enemies into an anthem of the resistance of the bars during this crisis and to encourage consumers to return to the bars.

The brewery has managed to get the Madrid rock band to revert its own song to adapt the lyrics to this “countdown” situation in the process of recovering our moments at the bar counter and, with it, also recovering part of our style of life, of our culture.

In the band’s words: “The Enemies met in a bar. And we are patrons of a bar. For us a bar is their bar ”.

Josele Santiago, leader of Los Enemigos, offered to modify the lyrics of his mythical song “The countdown” to provide a message of strength, affection and optimism to all those who understand that a BAR is something much bigger than a place where drink some beer.

Santiago points out that “for us it is a dream to have had this opportunity. I have tried to transfer the letter to the metaphor of our society, which comes out of a disease. I am very grateful. It is very interesting that something that was created as a teenage tantrum has become a message to help society a little bit ”.

About Enemies

Los Enemigos, a group formed in Madrid in 1985, is one of the most important rock bands in Spanish with a prolific career spanning almost 20 years. The same year of their formation they won the Villa de Madrid rock competition and only one year later they recorded their first album, ‘Ferpemente’.

Since then they have been chaining the releases of some of the most revered albums on our scene, where their third work, ‘La vida mata’, stands out especially, which consolidated them as a band, becoming one of the peaks of Spanish rock. After this work would come ‘The countdown’, his most ambitious work and the one that opened the doors of radio stations throughout the country. In later years, ‘Sursum Corda’, ‘Gas’ or ‘Nada’ would arrive before celebrating their fifteen years as a band with ‘Obras Escondidas’, a double live album that reviews their entire career and with which they also made a successful tour.

The group, made up of Josele Santiago, Fino Oyonarte, Chema ‘Animal’ Pérez and David Krahe are responsible for some of the most influential songs of our contemporary popular music. Throughout their career they have also made numerous collaborations, such as in tribute albums to great artists such as Joan Manuel Serrat, Rosendo Mercado, Burning or even Federico García Lorca. They have also participated in soundtracks for films such as ‘I have a house’ by Mónica Laguna or ‘They are looking for fulmontis’ by Álex Calvo-Sotelo.
