The company of Prymul’s daughter received a subsidy for the production of disinfection

The server wrote it on Saturday Euro.cz, according to which the company has so far been mostly loss – making and showed minimal activity. According to the weekly, Karolína Prymulová and her father did not comment on the matter.

The selection committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade granted a subsidy to Medimun on 5 August, which, according to ministry spokeswoman Štěpánka Filipová, makes up half of the planned investment. “Thanks to financial support, the recipient will be able to produce disinfectant, which will strengthen its competitiveness,” the spokeswoman said.

Medimun was founded in 2004 and was owned for many years by Prymul’s wife Ruslana. The Minister’s daughter Karolína has been an executive since 2017, according to the Commercial Register. The company reported a net profit of CZK 1,000 last year with a turnover of CZK 180,000. “The aim of the project is to produce medical disinfectants that can be used in hospitals and other medical facilities on our own production technologies with sufficient capacity to meet the demand on the market,” the company writes on its website. It also offers hyaluronic acid for sale as a dietary supplement.

In the past, Prymul’s daughter also owned Biovomed, a company that conducted clinical research for companies around the world. According to press information, in June 2016, the then Minister of Health Svatopluk Němeček (ČSSD) recalled Prymul from the head of the University Hospital Hradec Králové due to his connection to Biovomed. Prymula called it a surrogate problem, according to him the reason for the appeal was disagreements and personal disputes with Germany.

Medimun received the subsidy when Prymula was the government’s commissioner for science and research in healthcare. He was appointed Minister of Health by President Miloš Zeman on September 21, but Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES) proposed Prymul’s dismissal on Friday. He reacted to photos in the daily Blesk depicting Prymula leaving the restaurant without a veil at night, which was supposed to be closed at that time according to government regulations. At the same time, Prymula himself announced measures concerning the mandatory wearing of veils and repeatedly asked people to abide by them.

Prymula said that he had not violated any measures against coronavirus, and he refused to resign, which Babiš called on him to do. Zeman postponed the decision on the appeal until next week, on Tuesday he will meet with the candidate for Prymul’s ministerial position. According to the media, it should be Jan Blatný, a pediatric hematologist and deputy director of the Brno University Hospital.
