The music is over, the customers leave. No distancing, no masks, but over three hundred young people crowded together to dance: local police clear the dance floor of the «The Club», one of the night clubs that animate the heart of social life in the Garibaldi area (in these evenings again in great shape for the return of the Fuorisalone), and suspends the license at the club for 5 days. This is how the “Milan design week 2021 party” on Thursday evening, advertised on the Facebook page of the Corso Garibaldi nightclub, a few days from another very similar intervention that, in the night between Sunday and Monday, hit Hollywood, probably the symbol of the nightlife of Corso Como.

The point lies in the non-compliance with the anticovid rules in force for indoor premises. In this context, clubs and discos are perhaps among the sectors most affected, for the duration of the restrictions, by the effects of the pandemic. According to local police reports, the agents of the Annonaria office intervened late at night, between the sofas and the colored lights of The Club, practically in the early hours of Friday, when the party was going crazy. To get carried away by the rhythms of techno music there were “About 360 young people”: mainly students of foreign nationality, or visitors who came specifically from abroad for the events of the Salone del Mobile.

The hardest blow for the club is certainly represented by suspension for the next five days, in a period of great tourist attraction like the present one. A decidedly more penalizing consequence of the overall fine of «800 euros», formalized against the managers. The latter for the evening of the “Design week party” they offered the possibility of booking tables for six people at prices ranging from 180 (“track side”) to 250 euros (“super privé”). The entry into the indoor area, among other things, “was provided only with a green pass or negative buffer, carried out in the previous 48 hours”, as can be read in the promotional post of the party.

Always through the official Facebook page, the management of the restaurant has made it known that it does not want to release any statement at present about the raid carried out by the local police. The closure of the club is therefore announced up to and including Wednesday 15 September. “The intervention of the agents of the commercial ration unit – specifies a note released yesterday by Palazzo Marino – is part of the normal checks carried out by the specialized unit of the local police, and like the one that led, on the morning of Monday 6 September to the suspension , for the same reasons as the Hollywood disco in Corso Como ». Here, between Sunday and Monday, more than 150 people were found inside the restaurant. Also in this case, the face protections and safety distances are largely absent. Musical entertainment, on the other hand, was not lacking.

The local police officers, faced with that situation, could not help but impose the closure for five days due to the failure to comply with the rules for the containment of the infection, as happened the other night at The Club. these days, in terms of night entertainment (in this case, live music), the representatives of KeepOn Live, the trade association that gathers Italian Live clubs and Festivals, met the mayor Beppe Sala who spoke out for their demands to the government. «After two years, the time has come to be certain – the operators of the sector write -. We must reopen with clear and equal rules for everyone. In addition to the citizen confrontation, we agreed that throughout Italy it is necessary to restore the capacities thanks to the use of the Green pass and the mask, in order to eliminate the distancing and the assigned seats ».
