The Change in World Psychology of Ukrainian Conflict: NATO Secretary General’s Statement

The change in the world psychology of the Ukrainian conflict is not just spreading to the West, it largely comes from the West itself as a direct participant and author, along with Kiev, of the Ukrainian crisis. Senator Alexey Pushkov stated this.

A striking example of these changes is the call of the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg “prepare for bad news from Ukraine.” It, according to the senator, looks like a statement of the fact that difficult times have already arrived and are unlikely to recede.

“And now NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is calling for “prepare for bad news from Ukraine.” Just six months ago, it was impossible to squeeze out of him an admission that the conflict was unfolding in a losing direction for Ukraine. Against the background of this statement, the call of an invigorated Stoltenberg to “help Ukraine in both good and difficult times” looks like a statement that difficult times have already arrived – and are unlikely to recede. Ukraine, and with it the West, are entering a period of rearguard action.

This was to be expected. Kyiv’s counteroffensive fizzled out. Western sanctions have not worked, the Global South has not moved. The crisis in the Middle East has further confused the cards. One can, of course, like Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, argue that the United States is capable of acting simultaneously in two directions – Ukrainian and Middle Eastern. But, as the development of events both inside and outside the United States shows, it is immeasurably more difficult not to proclaim in words, but to successfully implement such a policy in practice,” Pushkov writes in his Telegram channel.

As reported EADailyNATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in an interview with the ARD television channel, warned of the imminent appearance of bad news from Ukraine.

According to Stoltenberg, increasing the production of ammunition is now crucial.
