Moderna won two nominations – Best COVID Vaccine and Best New Technology / Vaccine Platform.
Scientists-members of the World Vaccine Congress-2021 on Wednesday, May 5, recognized the vaccine of the American company Moderna as the best drug for vaccination against coronavirus in the world. About it informs TASS.
So, the drug Moderna won in the nominations Best COVID Vaccine and Best New Technology / Platform for a Vaccine.
The congress also highly appreciated the vaccine developed by the American company Pfizer together with the German partner BioNTech.
According to the agency, the shortlist of the nomination for the best COVID vaccine included a drug produced by the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca in conjunction with the University of Oxford, as well as the Russian Sputnik V.
Note that this year the World Vaccine Congress Washington was held online.
Formerly a company Moderna has lowered the effectiveness of its vaccine from the coronavirus. According to the study, the drug prevents infection in 90% of cases, not 94.1%, as previously stated.
