All four hit media used one ad server. When converting from his name to numbers, hackers intervened and replaced the numbers. Thus, instead of advertisements, the image of the Russian president appeared.
The image itself is a heavily made-up version of Putin in front of the traditional rainbow-colored flag, a symbol of LGBT people. It was created in 2013 as a mockery of Russia’s homophobic policies and is known as Gay Clown Putin. The inscription Make love, not war has been added to the familiar cartoon.
