ABU DHABI, September 14 / WAM / His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Diplomatic Academy of Anwar Gargash, welcomed the new students of the Academy from the future diplomat.
In a special event, the Academy, which is an important Emirati center for the training of diplomats, received; More than 30 male and female UAE students, as part of the Emirati Diplomacy and International Relations Postgraduate Diplomacy Program for the 2022-2023 academic year.
The event included an introductory overview of the Academy, its departments and faculty, as well as highlighting 21st century diplomacy trends and students’ expectations of being able to play an influential role in UAE diplomatic work in the future.
With the start of a new phase of study, students will have embarked on a rich educational path that spans 9 months, which will provide them with unique opportunities to acquire knowledge and hone their skills to enable them to meet the needs of their future work. as diplomats.
Students also have the opportunity to meet leaders, specialists and distinguished personalities in the world of diplomacy from around the world, who will share their personal experiences and experiences they have had in their diplomatic work and in global affairs.

His Excellency commended the Academy members for welcoming new students, who are ambitious diplomats, and urged them to continue their work and make noble efforts to achieve the vision of wise leadership towards empowering and preparing the best. future diplomats.
His Excellency Nikolai Mladenov, Acting Director General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, addressed the students in which he said: “Your presence in this academy marks the beginning of the journey of science and knowledge, an important journey through which you will cross a milestone in your life that places you at the beginning of the path of diplomatic work “.

His Excellency continued: “The road for new students can be challenging at times, but it is worth it, as this will give them the opportunity to join the elite diplomats representing the UAE on the international stage, which strengthen its bilateral relations and contribute to the achievement of its foreign policy objectives and national interests “.
He explained that because Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy is the starting point for Emirati diplomats, it brings together the best academic, research and practical circles and prepares them in an effort to enable its students to gain exceptional knowledge and skills for carry out their duties as future diplomats, determined to solidify the UAE’s position globally.
For his part, Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director General of the Diplomatic Academy of Anwar Gargash, welcomed the new group of students for the academic year 2022/2023 and said: “This represents a further achievement for the ‘Academy in line with its indications to continue providing the highest levels of education and skills to future diplomats “.
He added: “As a graduate of Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, I am very proud to welcome the new students and to know their desire to support the diplomatic orientations of the UAE.”
The Academy’s postgraduate degree program offers its students many core subjects, including global diplomatic history; the theory of the practice of international relations; international law; the foreign policy of the United Arab Emirates; history and government, as well as economics, students will also acquire skills in research methods; negotiation; Diplomatic communications, protocol and etiquette, as well as consular diplomacy and crisis management.
The Academy also ensures that all its students complete a compulsory course in a third language of their choice on a list that includes Chinese; Is French; Russian and Spanish.
It is worth noting that the Academy has received more than 35 students in the Master of Arts in Global Affairs and Diplomatic Leadership program, which opened registration for all UAE citizens for the first time.
The program aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of global and regional issues, especially those relating to the UAE, and to enhance their diplomatic leadership skills.
Over the next week, Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy will welcome students of the Master of Arts in Humanitarian and Development program in its second batch.This program focuses on developing practical skills, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of key trends theory that influence the delivery of humanitarian aid and the most important development studies.
Since its inception, the Academy has trained more than 200 new diplomats to join the cadres of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who today represent the UAE in various tasks at the local, regional and global levels.
