The alleged marabout prosecuted for fraud and provocation to suicide, in Chartres

A 28-year-old Chartrain, originally from Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), was placed under judicial control, Friday February 12, while awaiting trial, September 27, 2021.

The man, who presents himself as a “marabout”, offered his services on the internet. “He was contacted by a man in depression,” said Rémi Coutin, public prosecutor yesterday.

Still according to the prosecutor, back home, he drank this beverage. But he is not dead. He would have resumed contact with the alleged marabout. According to the prosecutor, the latter explained to him that he had not respected the procedure, namely that he had to drink at the same time as the alleged marabout was reading a text validating the effects of his product.

The two men met again, Thursday February 11, Place des Épars, in Chartres, it seems to negotiate a new bottle purchase which would have been invoiced € 1,500, and still paid in cash.

But this transaction was seen by municipal police officers behind their video protection screens. The alleged marabout was immediately arrested and handed over to the legal support group at the Chartres police station.

The Chartrain was taken into custody. “He denied the facts during his hearing”, underlines the prosecutor, who specifies that “the liquid contained a mixture of water and black ink”.

The suspect has never been convicted by justice.
