The company will export Model 3 to more than ten countries, including Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland. The Gigafactory 3 plant on the outskirts of Shanghai, Tesla’s first plant outside the United States, began delivering cars to the local market earlier this year.

The plant plans to produce 150,000 electric cars this year. In September, Tesla sold 11,000 cars in China, the world’s largest car market. The carmaker is going to expand its production capacity in Shanghai and also produce the sports-utility Model Y there.

Reuters reported last month that Tesla will export cars made in China to Asian and European markets. She named Japan and Hong Kong from the Asian ones.

More models of various brands are imported from Europe to Chinese plants. For example, the Volvo S90 sedan. The plan is, for example, for the electric SUV BMW iX3.

Next year from Berlin as well
Tesla’s headquarters are located in Fremont, California, USA. It employs over 10,000 people. It covers an area of 51 hectares, but is no longer sufficient for the needs of a fast-growing society. Tesla had to build two makeshift shelters at the plant.

Tesla is now building its first factory in Europe near Berlin, Germany. The plant, known as Gigafactory 4, is expected to start production in 2021 and is expected to leave around 500,000 cars a year. The company wants to produce Model Y, Model 3 and also propulsion systems and batteries.
