“You are nothing”, “It’s all your fault” and “We hope we never see you again” are some of the milder insults directed at McKenna Brown. As a result of the attack, she mentally failed and took her own life.
Brown’s mental state was already badly shaken, as she had been raped two years earlier and still hadn’t recovered from the trauma.
Teammates who mistreated her were suspended from the local team and the school. However, even then they did not show that they were sorry for their behavior.
