Al-Marsad newspaper: A taxi owner named Islam Nasrallah decided to punish the Mercedes company by placing a car worth 15 million Egyptian pounds in the parking lot on the roof of a house in Alexandria, after the company refused to maintain his broken car.
The person in charge of the car, Hisham Omar, said that after the company inspected the vehicle, it said that the reason was the lack of 92 gasoline, but the car’s owner rejected the company’s statement that this was the real reason.
Hisham Omar added that the company said that the machine that will be installed again costs 2 million and 800 thousand pounds, and it may take 6 months for it to arrive in Egypt. Omar pointed out that the car owner asked about the machine outside the company’s agency and learned that its price is 250 thousand pounds and will arrive within 3 weeks.
He continued that the company asked him to sign statements that he was responsible for what happened to the car and that the agency had nothing to do with the malfunction and refused to deliver the vehicle without his signature. After that, he went to file a report with the department and file a complaint with the consumer protection department.
Hisham continued that a committee from Ain Shams University examined the car and issued a report in which it said that the problem was a manufacturing defect caused by the maintenance turbo and confirmed that the agency tampered with the inspection.
