President of the DPP POI Perjuangan Ahmad Basarah hopes the Indonesian government will apologize to Mr. Sukarno and his extended family for releasing TAP MPRS No. 33 of 1967 on the revocation of the power of government.
In the section on consideration or consideration of the TAP MPRS, Sukarno was said to have favored the group that created the 30 September 1965 Movement (G30S). Now the TAP MPRS has been revoked.
“In our opinion, after receiving the title of national hero from Bung Karno in 2012, the state, through the government of the Republic of Indonesia, should apologize to Bung Karno and his family,” Basarah said, quoting a press release on Tuesday. (8/11).
“And the Indonesian people for the unfair treatment they received from a nation publisher, a founder of the nation,” he added.
Basarah stressed that the allegations made against Bung Karno regarding the G30S have never been proven. Therefore, Basarah thought that the state needed to apologize to Sukarno and his extended family.
Moreover, he said, Indonesia is known as a country that respects the services of its heroes.
“So the state’s apologies through the government to Bung Karno and his family are part of the moral responsibility of our nation and state,” Basarah said.
Basarah also appreciated President Jokowi who reiterated that Sukarno had become a national hero and had never betrayed the nation.
“So, with the SBY president receiving the title of national hero in 2012, the allegations made by TAP MPRS 33/1967 are actually unproven. Therefore, we thank President Jokowi once again,” said Basarah.
Earlier, President Jokowi stated that TAP MPRS No. 33 of 1967 was revoked and is no longer valid. The MPRS TAP contained the lifting of state government power from Sukarno. In the weighing section, it is stated that Sukarno issued a policy that favored the G30S group in 1965.
Therefore, the TAP MPRS was revoked in 2003 with TAP MPR n. 1 in 2003. Subsequently, the state of Indonesia also awarded the title of hero proclaimed in 1986 and national hero in 2012.
“This means that it was declared that the engineer Sukarno met the conditions of being loyal and not betraying the nation and the state, a condition for conferring the title of heroism,” said Jokowi.
