Accommodation is even more affected (-25.6%) than catering (-18.6%) by the economic and health consequences of the Covid-19, said a statement on Thursday. Customers are unlikely to postpone their dates of stay later. In addition, even if the measures soften, international travel is likely to be shorter in the future.
By canton, accommodation fell by between 21 and 30%. Unsurprisingly, Ticino, one of the most affected by coronavirus cases, suffers the most, while spring and summer are important seasons. (AWP)
