Suspicions of harassment at Saint-Ferdinand school, in Chartres: the teacher suspended again

New twist in the case concerning a CM2 teacher working at the Saint-Ferdinand private school, in Chartres, suspected of harassment on at least four students. Suspended by the rectorate for five months from the start of the investigation, the 45-year-old teacher, presumed innocent, was again suspended on Tuesday, September 7.

The Republican Echo was able to consult a letter sent to families that same day, signed by the head of the school, Sandrine Tala-Ighil, Hervé Flichy, head of the coordinating school, and Philippe Castille, diocesan director.

A protective measure

In this letter, it is written that “the conditions of serenity for a good return to school are no longer met. “Consequently,” it was decided, as a precaution, a measure of withdrawal from the teacher’s class. It is not a sanction, but a measure of protection. »And to quote the name of the replacement.

It is also specified in this document: “In order to calm the situation, a school psychologist will be present in the coming days to listen to and support the children. The situation would seem delicate for some of the 350 students educated in the Catholic establishment.

Change of opinion

The text encourages parents to engage in “respectful and direct dialogue”.

“The return to school of the teacher was authorized, because the presumption of innocence prevails”, confided, Friday, September 3, Evelyne Mège, academic director of the departmental services of National Education (DASEN, ndlr), whose arrival is announced soon, according to the said letter addressed to the parents. This Wednesday, September 8, the Dasen did not wish to speak to The Republican Echo.

Sunday, September 5, after four protest signs were put up in the street in front of the school, two days earlier, the school director, Sandrine Tala-Ighil, sent a letter to the parents of the students of Saint-Ferdinand, that The Republican Echo was also able to consult: “We strongly deplore the demonstration of parents, Friday, by the installation of panels in front of the school. This process does not respect our educational project or the law. “A message that greatly displeased some parents.

Strong tensions

After five months of suspension, the teacher suspected of harassment, former director of the Châteauneuf-en-Thymerais school, was placed in police custody on August 31 at the Chartres police station.

Auditioned, the forty-something would have challenged the mockery, in particular clothing, humiliations, disparaging remarks and racist behavior towards certain students. Then, she was left free time for the juvenile brigade to continue its investigations.

“My client strongly contests the accusations against her and calmly awaits the outcome of the ongoing investigation,” said Friday, her lawyer, the President of the Bar Vincent Rivierre.

The teacher was authorized by the rectorate to make her third start to the Saint-Ferdinand school. This did not fail to provoke an outcry from the plaintiff parents, whose children are alleged victims, to whom ITTs of 5 to 20 days would have been issued.

Since then, tensions are particularly palpable between two clans of parents of students: those who support the teacher and those who contest her presence in the establishment, going so far as to break friendships between adults.
