Suspect in Mönchengladbach (NRW) Bomb Threat Identified

At the end of last week, bomb threats were received at the community primary school and the comprehensive school in the Hardt district of Mönchengladbach. The police then cleared the schools, closed them and searched them with sniffer dogs. Even though no bomb was found, schools remained closed on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, the search for the source of the bomb threats also progressed. In the meantime, according to information from the „WDR“ identify a suspect. It is a 15-year-old youth who is said to have sent the threatening letters from abroad.

He is said to have sent several emails to the community elementary school, where criminal offenses were threatened. The young person wanted to achieve that the school was canceled. The police did not release any further information for investigative reasons.

Bomb threat at Mönchengladbach school: expensive crime

The officials got the decisive clue from two schoolgirls aged 12 and 13. The 13-year-old contacted a teacher and explained that she might know who was behind the threats. It could now be expensive for the perpetrator.

Because comparable cases from the past, as a recent case in Krefeld shows, the police are happy to charge the perpetrators. In Krefeld, a 16-year-old student threatened to go on a killing spree, and he is now said to have paid 38,000 euros for the police operation that followed. This should also apply to the alleged perpetrator of the two schools in Mönchengladbach-Hardt.

The police secured the school routes to the affected schools on Monday morning. The schools themselves should also continue to be guarded so that any danger can be ruled out.
