Suspect (24) of armed threat crashes during chase on A58

A 24-year-old man from Den Bosch crashed on the A58 highway near Moergestel on Sunday evening after a police chase. The man allegedly threatened someone with a firearm earlier that day, according to police.

After the police received the threat report, officers looked for the man. They saw him driving in a car on the Ringbaan-Zuid in Tilburg around seven o’clock. Officers gave the suspect a stop sign, according to a police spokesperson, which he ignored. He drove at high speed onto the A58 in the direction of Eindhoven.

At the resting place Kerkeind near Moergestel, the man lost control of the steering wheel. There he was arrested. The man was injured in the collision and was taken to a hospital.

Ball gun
A weapon was found in the man’s car. This turned out to be a pellet gun, police said Monday morning. The A58 in the direction of Eindhoven was closed for some time on Sunday.
