Cristiano Ronaldo mollified after last-minute win

Manchester United clinched an important 1-0 win over West Ham United on Saturday afternoon, leaving London behind in the contention for fourth place. Marcus Rashford’s last-minute goal brought relief and optimism even to a dissatisfied Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese got upset about his team-mates several times during the game. Especially with fellow striker Mason Greenwood, the interaction was not right at all.

In the first half alone, Greenwood twice missed Cristiano Ronaldo, who was better positioned than he was. Possibly the Red Devils would have taken the lead much earlier through the passes, which would have spared their fans some stress, but also some thrills.

In the end, the three points were balm for Ronaldo’s soul. “Another important win before the Premier League was suspended, another step towards our goals,” the 2016 European champion later wrote on Instagram.
