Survivors Share Harrowing Experience of Black Sea Flooding

“At 10 a.m. the water flooded us. 10 minutes later we called 112, they didn’t come until 6-7 pm to evacuate us. We caught the dogs, dumped the luggage and went to the top of the caravans, where there is no water,” said Valentina, who suffered from floods along the Black Sea.

According to her, 10-15 people had to stay in one caravan.

“There was a mother with three children on the roof of a house, people from the campsite had to break windows and save them because help did not come in time,” adds Valentina.

She and several other people took shelter in the municipality of Tsarevo after they managed to break away from the water hell in Arapia.

All the hotels in the area are occupied, many people have come to pick up their loved ones or to see their children who are at summer camp.
