WhatsApp is discontinuing support for several Android and iPhone models. This means that Messenger will no longer be supported on these smartphones in 2021.
Four out of five Germans have WhatsApp installed on their smartphones. Soon it could be a few less – because the messenger is discontinuing support for several devices at the same time.
The change affects users with an older operating system – and comes with both Android and iOS. This is reported by the American business magazine Entrepreneur.

WhatsApp will no longer work on all iPhones that do not run at least iOS 9.0 from next year. Anyone who uses an iPhone 4 will have to do without WhatsApp in the future. If you have a 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and 6S, you should update to iOS 9.0 as soon as possible so that the messenger continues to work.
Dilemma for WhatsApp users: Those who do not agree to this change will be kicked out!
WhatsApp will also soon no longer support some Android models. The change affects all devices that do not have at least the OS 4.0.3 operating system. These include HTC Desire, LG Optimus Black, Motorola Droid Razr, and the Samsung Galaxy S2. Messenger will no longer run on them.
