LR Teschl-Hofmeister / Heuras: Around 3,290 children are supported at 90 locations in Lower Austria
St. Pölten (OTS / NLK) – The effects of the corona crisis must also be cushioned in education. This summer, from August 24th to September 4th at 90 Lower Austria locations, those students who need and want it will receive professional and efficient support. “As of today, around 3,290 schoolchildren have registered for the summer school in Lower Austria, which is almost 60 percent of the target group addressed”, state councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister and director of education Johann Heuras are pleased that the expectations have been exceeded.
“The summer school is a supplementary course and is particularly aimed at promoting German. The target group is primary and secondary school students (VS, MS and AHS lower level) and here especially extraordinary students. Participation is free of charge and generally voluntary. However, we strongly recommend it because it is a unique and good chance to catch up on what you have missed, ”said Teschl-Hofmeister and Heuras.
The federal summer school optimally complements the holiday care offer of the state of Lower Austria. Lower Austria provides municipalities with additional support totaling around 4.5 million euros for the organization of childcare offers.
