Season 4 of Stranger things is not expected before 2021 on Netflix, but to keep the fans patient, David Harbor teased a big revelation about his character, Jim Hopper. The next episodes will explore the past of this sheriff like no other, and will bring new elements of answer concerning a passage of season 2. In the latter, Eleven made the discovery of five boxes, and on three of them, he the words “Papa”, “Vietnam” and “New York” were indicated. While the sergeant is a prisoner in Russia, season 4 will likely tell everything that happened to this character born in 1942. Here’s what we could be told about Jim Hopper.
We know that Jim Hopper met Joyce at Hawkins High School but that he made his living with a girl named Diane. With the latter, he had a daughter named Sara, who died of cancer. In the box titled “Dad”, we could perhaps discover why Jim, for example, did not make a living with Joyce, but rather with this woman. We would surely learn more about her daughter’s illness as well as this difficult period of her life. Sara certainly did not leave without leaving clues or a little something about the future of her father, Jim. As for the “Vietnam” box, we know that the sheriff is a veteran of the Vietnam War, but what happened there? Could these painful memories help him deal with complex situations in the Russian prison, for example?
Finally, concerning the “New York” file, this would correspond to his beginnings as a police officer after having waged the Vietnam War. When he arrived in Hawkins, he explained that he had been a cop in “a big city”. After the death of his daughter, Jim had to plunge into work in order to forget this painful memory. Perhaps he did not always make the right decisions even if he made enemies? We can’t wait to learn more about this iconic character from Stranger Things, whose season 4 promises to be even darker!
