The President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski will not let Bulgarians in at the celebrations of Gotse Delchev in Skopje, the publication “Vecher” reported.
The ban is imposed on February 4 and it applies to Bulgarian MEPs and politicians.
For some of them, the Macedonian special services received information that they are connected to the Russian special services.
Stevo Pendarovski did not specify the names of the Bulgarian citizenswhich he suggested should not be allowed into the country, but specified that some of the “structures from Bulgaria that have been activated” are connected to the Russian intelligence service.
The latest developments in relations with Bulgaria were the focus of today’s meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Macedonia, said the Head of State Stevo Pendarovski after the meeting.
The Security Council with a proposal to the government to ban the entry into the country of one MEP and several other persons. According to President Pendarovski, there are suspicions that some of these individuals are connected to Russian intelligence.
He said that on February 4, an organized group is expected to arrive in the country to mark the anniversary of Gotse Delchev’s birth. The group’s goal is to disrupt security in order to destabilize the country and relations with Bulgaria. The president said that all necessary will be taken security measures from the border to Gotse Delchev.
“According to the available analyzes and knowledge of the competent authorities, it is a question of organized activities from neighboring Bulgaria, which have become more active especially after the adoption of the European negotiating framework in July last year. These same structures have already been mobilized logistically and financially to support the organized arrival of many people in Skopje on February 4, when Gotse Delchev’s birthday is celebrated.
“In addition to all assessments, this will create a high security risk and the competent authorities should not be silent observers of what will happen,” Pendarovski said.
“Furthermore, in order for the event on February 4 to pass as it should, all measures will be taken on the ground, which means that only people who come to worship Gotse Delchev will have access from the border point to the place of the event. but not those who aim to humiliate the Macedonian people,” Pendarovski pointed out and called on the institutions in Bulgaria, which he specified were “not part of this,” to politically isolate “people who do not want good neighborly relations.”

As informed by Pendarovski’s office, in addition to the members of the Security Council, the Director of the Intelligence Agency Erold Musliu, the Director of the National Security Agency Zarko Miloszewski and the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Vasko Jurczynovski, were also present.
