Is your home station affected?: The train is often late here | money

“As punctual as the train” – that was once. The dictum becomes a phrase. All of Germany groans in annoyance because the train is always late or has to be canceled altogether.

The portal Zugfinder.net and the YouTube channel “Railways in Austria, Germany, Switzerland” keep a record of the routes with the worst delays. These are now the norm on some routes.

The worst connections

► 1. Salzburg → Munich: 93.6% of all journeys are delayed

► 2. Greifswald → Karlsruhe: 88.7% of all journeys are delayed

► 3. Westerland → Stuttgart: 88.7% of all journeys are delayed

► 4. Stuttgart → Münster: 88.5% of all journeys are delayed

► 5. Zagreb → Munich: 88.2% of all journeys are delayed

► 6. Rijeka → Munich: 88.1% of all journeys are delayed

► 7. Berlin → Bonn: 88.1% of all journeys are delayed

► 8. Brussels → Vienna: 86.7% of all journeys are delayed

Several domestic German lines appear in the ranking of inter-European connections with the longest delays. Striking: Many of them pass the left or right Rhine route between Cologne via Bonn/Siegburg to Koblenz.

Some of the internationally listed trains are night connections. Reason: The journey goes through several countries including possible border controls.

When asked by BILD, Deutsche Bahn was unable to provide any information on which routes were affected by the longest delays. The Ministry of Transport does not provide this information either.
