Stegner calls for “Corona incidence traffic light” | NDR.de – News – Schleswig-Holstein

Status: December 8th, 2020 5:10 p.m.

In view of increasing corona numbers, Schleswig-Holstein’s SPD parliamentary group leader Ralf Stegner has called for a “corona incidence traffic light”. This is to determine at which incidence value certain measures take effect.

The “traffic light” should apply nationwide and indicate from how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days to certain incidence values with which measures must be responded. “If we want to get the approval of the population, then the crisis management at Corona has to be in such a way that the regulations are comprehensible, transparent and effective,” said Stegner on Tuesday in the state parliament in Kiel.

Acceptance of restrictions

According to Stegner, a national standard can meet these requirements. Such a traffic light would end what he believes is the communication chaos between the federal states, that many are unsettled and grist to the mill of corona deniers, said the Social Democrat and added: Where the dangers are great, action must be taken consistently – if necessary with a lockdown.

Consistent action in the event of great danger

From his point of view, however, such an instrument would be more productive than a hard so-called lockdown from Christmas into the New Year. But if there were such a nationwide, the local SPD would not oppose it. However, it should be asked whether such a leveling out would be correct with such great differences in the infection process in Germany, said Stegner.

Kiel Landtag advises on possible tightening

Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) expressed concern about the development of the corona situation in Schleswig-Holstein on Tuesday. The increasing number of cases worries him. He warned against hasty decisions, but was open to further tightening, which will initially be discussed at the federal level. It is clear that there will be no further easing of measures in Schleswig-Holstein until January 10th. The Kiel state parliament will initially discuss possible new measures on Thursday.
