State Bureau of Investigation caught drug dealers

In the Lviv region, the police sold drugs and falsified criminal proceedings. And their Melitopol colleagues not only sold drugs to addicts, but also took “goods” from material evidence.

Investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation have completed a pre-trial investigation into an organized criminal group of former employees of one of the district police departments in the Lviv region. Their colleagues from the Zaporozhye region were declared suspected. This was announced on Monday, February 7, by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.

It is noted that in the Lviv region, the head of the operational unit, together with three of his subordinates, during 2020-2021 sold amphetamine, “salts”, Alpha PVP, heroin, methadone and other illegal substances to drug addicts.

“Also, former law enforcement officers falsified criminal proceedings to create “indicators” of work. They bribed citizens to take responsibility for crimes that they did not actually commit,” the SBI said.

The activity of the criminal group was terminated in May 2021.

The band members are accused of:

  • illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage and sale of narcotic drugs;

  • deliberately false report about the commission of a crime and bringing an innocent person to criminal responsibility;

  • an offense committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy

The sanctions of the articles provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years.

Also in Melitopol, investigators of the SBI reported suspicion to members of an organized group that organized the sale of drugs in large quantities on the territory of the Zaporozhye region.

“It is known that the detective of one of the departments of the Zaporizhzhya regional police department organized a large-scale scheme for the sale of drugs. He involved the deputy head of this police department, his wife and an acquaintance in illegal activities,” the SBI noted.

According to investigators, at first they made drugs on their own – they bought hemp raw materials, dried it, packaged it into doses and sold it to drug addicts.

In the future, they decided to take the goods from material evidence, to which the deputy head of the police department had access.

It was established that he had replaced 1 kg of the psychotropic substance PVP seized in criminal proceedings with a similar mixture. Then they packaged the drug into doses and sold it to their customers.

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation recorded several facts of the sale of narcotic drugs by the indicated persons for a total amount of almost 100 thousand hryvnias.

The investigation is also checking other facts of illegal possession of psychotropic substances, which were material evidence, and their sale.

Members of a criminal organized group are suspected of illegally acquiring, manufacturing, storing for sale, as well as illegally selling narcotic drugs and taking possession of psychotropic substances through abuse of official position on an especially large scale.

The sanctions of the articles provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
