Turbine Potsdam lost to the reigning title holder VfL Wolfsburg 2: 3 (1: 2) on an ankle-high blanket of snow at the start of the second half of the women’s Bundesliga. The white surface made life difficult for the players on Friday evening, and an intense game developed.
Twice the guests managed to equalize, but in the end were decimated empty-handed. Rebecka Blomqvist (23rd), national player Kathrin Hendrich (31st) and Zsanett Jakabfi (57th) scored for VfL. Selina Cerci (30th) and Nina Ehegötz (51st) outnumbered scored the goals for Potsdam. Shortly before the break (42nd) Lea Bahnemann saw the yellow-red card after a rough foul.

Goalkeeper Almuth Schult was not part of the Wolfsburg squad. The national player returned to training after the birth of her twins, but is currently only number three behind Polish Katarzyna Kiedrzynek and Friederike Abt. After recovering from a foot injury, VfL captain Alexandra Popp celebrated a 20-minute comeback.
According to this result, Turbine Potsdam remains in fourth place in the table and with 22 points three points behind the declared season goal third.
