Fire service in Waldstatt AR: A barn is in full fire. A BLICK reader reporter reports huge flames. The police and the fire department are on site.

Daniel Manser, spokesman for the Appenzell Ausserrhoden cantonal police, confirmed the operation at the request of BLICK. «At 7:07 p.m. we received the message that a barn was on fire. A passerby who was driving from Urnäsch AR to Waldstatt AR alarmed us. »

Several hundred thousand francs damage
The passerby then hurried to the house, which is only about ten meters away from the burning barn. He found two children aged 10 and 13 in the house. “The two children were fine and hadn’t noticed the fire next door until then,” said Manser. The parents were out of the house.

“The immediately deployed fire department was able to bring the fire under control quickly and prevent it from spreading to the house,” says the police spokesman. A total of around 90 emergency services from the Waldstatt and Urnäsch fire departments were deployed.

Nobody was injured, but the fire caused property damage of several hundred thousand francs. Most of the machines were stored in the barn, and there were no living things inside. The cause of the fire is currently still unclear and will be determined. (CRC)
