Procedures for the 1m-euro compensation are still pending
The government is discussing the payment of 5,000 euros in costs in the case that Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha won in the European Strasbourg.
In September last year, former Prime Minister and his sister Maria Louisa Hrobok condemned Bulgaria for the moratorium imposed on October 19, 2009. It deprived them of the right to dispose of land and property returned to them or given as compensation to the heirs of the former kings Ferdidand I and Boris III.
The Strasbourg court did not award damages, except for those 5,000 euros.
However, the compensation for which the two can claim is 1,050,365 euros, because an expert examination proved that they could have received that much from logging for the period from the imposition of the moratorium until 2018.
However, this issue remained open and the Strasbourg court did not rule on it. The Ministry of Justice clarified that a procedure is currently underway.
