The release of the “charged” version of the Russian “car” will have to wait a while.
But it all began so well: at the end of last year AvtoVAZ strongly hinted that the LADA Vesta SW Sport project would still get to small-scale production. Initially, the situation depended on how successfully the LADA Vesta Sport will be sold, and the final figures for the year, apparently, finally satisfied the Russian brand, although it was assumed that the figures would be slightly higher.
Around the same time period, plausible “stuffing” appeared regarding the prospects of the LADA Vesta SW Sport in the Russian market. They allegedly plan to assemble the “charged” station wagon as early as March of this year, moreover, 2-3 copies a week, and it was planned to start the final sales of the “car” in mid-summer.
Not only that, these plans were frankly embarrassing with their small scale, and even a week before the end of March, it became clear that no Russian LADA Vesta SW Sport could be seen by Russian drivers. At least – certainly not this summer, since AvtoVAZ would have already managed to announce the start of the assembly of the station wagon ten times and announce tentative dates for the premiere. It is possible that the coronavirus is to blame for everything, but too much has recently begun to “justify” this disease.
Apparently, the reason for the possible “freezing” of the ambitious LADA Vesta SW Sport project is the revised AvtoVAZ plans and the conclusion that it is not economically feasible to produce a sports station wagon even in a limited series. At the same time, AvtoVAZ by such actions “spits in the soul” for motorists who wholeheartedly waited for the “car” to leave this summer.
By his actions, the Russian auto giant seems to be hinting – one can completely forget about the word “sport” as applied to the domestic auto industry, which cannot but disappoint. Thus, AvtoVAZ in recent days has only been engaged in transferring or stopping projects, as it has recently become known that the presentation of the serial LADA 4×4 Vision will also not take place on schedule.
