Netflix pulled Friday night the veil of three more adaptations of well-known game series. This time, the power giant has dug into the Ubisoft catalog, and picked up Splinter Cell, Far Cry and the spin-off Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
The Splinter Cell series will be animated, and we will follow Sam Fisher as he works for the NSA’s Echelon Division. The series is written by Derek Kolstad, who is best known for creating the John Wick films. The only picture we have of the series so far can be found on the right.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon was an 80’s courtship when the standalone game came out in 2013. The Netflix adaptation will follow in the footsteps of the games after all sun marks. The series is called Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, and will be inspired by anime, comics a la those often seen on Saturday mornings in adolescence, wrestling, cyberpunk dystopia and more. Adi Shankar, who is behind Castlevania-adapsjonen, must lead it all.
We do not know much about the second Far Cry series yet, other than that it is on its way.
None of the series has a release date so far.
