Ukraine agreed to accept the help of the United States and Great Britain in the investigation of the assassination attempt on the first assistant to the President, Sergei Shefir.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that Ukrainian law enforcement officers are working on an investigation into the assassination attempt on Shefir with colleagues from the United States of America and Great Britain. On Monday, September 27, he announced this on the air of the “Freedom of Speech on ICTV” program.
“I believe that not only Serhiy and Oleksandr (the driver) were shot. These were shots at democracy and the future of Ukraine. But we are strong and this cowardly greetings from the nineties, to whom someone tried to intimidate or show something, these are futile attempts “, – noted Ermak.
According to him, what happened means that Ukraine is on the right path to real reforming the country.
The head of the President’s Office said that the assassination attempt caused a “frenzied reaction” and the President’s Office and he himself received many calls with words of support from almost all friends and partners of the country.
Yermak added that many of them offered help, so now Ukrainian law enforcement officers are working on an investigation into the assassination attempt with colleagues from the United States and Britain.
“I think that we will find out who was behind this. But these were the forces that do not want reforms in the country, that do not want an end to the war, that do not want to cleanse our country of criminals,” he stressed.

Recall Ukraine agreed to accept US assistance, in particular the FBI, in the investigation of the assassination attempt on Shefir, in order to overcome doubts of citizens and foreign colleagues about the objectivity of Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
