The “house in Barcelona” signal is correct. Spanish authorities have suggested that the 5m euros it was bought by Bulgarians may be related to “undeclared funds from senior Bulgarian government officials (including Prime Minister Boyko Borissov)”.
These are some of the preliminary conclusions of the report, which was received on February 2, 2022 in the Bulgarian Interior Ministry. According to two sources familiar with the inspection, the 22 pages described the entire scheme of the deal around this property, which aroused strong interest in Bulgaria and Spain.
There are publications from Bulgarian and Spanish media, cash flow analysis for two important investments worth a total of 5 million euros.
The companies through which the money has passed are indicated, as well as the ownership history of these companies. It was found that trade transactions of various kinds were made – capital increase, acquisition of luxury properties and cars, as well as capital contributions from partners. Spanish authorities say the “financial injections” are rumored to have been made by private individuals living in and outside Spain.
The report mentions the names of public figures in Bulgaria. The Spaniards concluded that the complaint was true, as there was evidence of many indicators “related to corporate transactions that could constitute an alleged crime – international money laundering worth 5 million euros.”
“EMA BGS SL” is the name of one of the companies under investigation in Barcelona.
Boyko Rashkov announced on February 2 that the Ministry of Interior had received folders with materials from the Spanish services for the so-called “house in Barcelona”. Former model Borislava Yovcheva lived in the name until last summer, the Spanish newspaper El Periodico told in its investigation in 2020. The publication first mentioned the name of former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and indicated a connection with the lady and her child. Today, Spanish authorities believe she lives in Rome after leaving Barcelona when the scandal became public.
“The people who have a connection with this house have been studied. Borislava Yovcheva, all the names around her name, even her father, the person with whom she married and other people. All this is reflected in detail and it is concluded that there is data on the crime of “money laundering”, said Boyko Rashkov 12 days ago.
Asked if the investigation mentioned Boyko Borissov’s name, the security minister said: “It is explicitly stated that the Catalan police suspect Bulgarian Prime Minister Borissov of money laundering. It is not a direct accusation, but it is written in these materials,” Rashkov said. in front of journalists
