Spain issues arrest warrant for ‘Tinder Swindler’ Simon Leviev | showbiz

CelebritiesAn arrest warrant has been issued against Simon Leviev, who became famous thanks to the documentary ‘The Tinder Swindler’ on Netflix. The reason for this is the use of a false driver’s license, writes ‘The Daily Mail’.

According to The Daily Mail, Simon Leviev got stuck in his Maserati on a Spanish beach, accompanied by a Russian blonde. When the police came to help him, he told him his name was Michael Bilton and showed a fake driver’s license. A police officer recognized Leviev as “The Tinder Swindler,” who tried to extort money from women he met on the dating site.

The Spanish security forces have now submitted a request to the court to reopen an investigation into Leviev. For that, an arrest warrant was issued against Leviev. It is not clear whether it concerns a worldwide arrest warrant.

Leviev once spent two and a half years in prison in Finland after being found guilty of defrauding three women. He then spent another five months in prison in Israel. Now he is free again and insists he is innocent. “The person they portray… It’s crazy,” he said in a recent interview. “I’m not, it’s simply a fantasy by Netflix. The difference between him and the real Simon is huge. I have never asked a woman or anyone else for money. But again, I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m the victim here. I am a victim of Netflix. There is no proof.”
