Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Israeli army announced, at dawn on Friday, the bombing of Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, a few hours after a security meeting of the Israeli cabinet, on Thursday evening, in which Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to make “the enemies pay a heavy price.”
The Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, had ordered preparations for “all possible responses” after the firing of rockets from Lebanon and Gaza at Israel, which came amid escalating tensions in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
And the Israeli army said, at dawn on Friday, in tweets on its Twitter account, that it had “bombed targets, including terrorist infrastructures belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization, in southern Lebanon.”
The Israeli army added that it “will not allow the Hamas terrorist organization to operate from inside Lebanon,” and held the Lebanese state responsible for “all fire emanating from its territory.”
Meanwhile, the Israeli army also announced the bombing of the Gaza Strip, without further details yet.
On Thursday evening, the “Hamas” movement warned of what “things in the region will lead to,” holding Israel “fully responsible” for the escalation, calling on the Palestinian forces and factions to “unified action in an open battle.”
