[Reuters]–Sony announced on the 1st that it will release the new game console “PlayStation 5 (PS5)” in India on February 2. The aim is to capture the growing demand for games due to the increase in the time spent at home for the new coronavirus.
According to the announcement posted on Twitter’s “PlayStation India” account, pre-order sales will begin on January 12, and major retailers including online shopping Amazon and Flipkart will accept reservations.
Competing Microsoft released two new games in the “Xbox” series in November last year. Two days later, Sony launched the PS5 in its core market.
