Six pedestrians in Washington Heights struck by driver who lost control- NYPD reports

NEW YORK — A vehicle traveling through Washington Heights in Manhattan suddenly lost control and struck several pedestrians Thursday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of West 190th Street and Broadway at approximately 6:10 p.m.

A total of six people were injured and the victims were identified as four adults and two 3-year-old children.

Each of the victims was transported to area hospitals in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot, but returned and was taken into police custody. It was not made clear why he left the scene.

Police do not know what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
