Singapore is in an uproar, a teenager kills a junior high school student

SINGAPORE – Singapore police say a high school student has been arrested for the murder of a 13-year-old boy. The victim’s body was found in the school bathroom along with the ax used to kill him.

Extreme violence in schools is rare in Singapore, a country known for its low crime rate and rule-abiding that considers itself one of the safest places in the world.

“The victim was found with multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” Singapore police said in a statement, as reported by Al Arabiya on Tuesday (20/7/2021). Also read: RI-Singapore Completes Discussion of 6 Bilateral Working Groups

Police will prosecute the perpetrator, who is known to be 16 years old with murder and seek a court order to detain him for psychiatric evaluation.

Singapore Education Minister Chan Chun Sing admitted he was shocked by the incident. He said his ministry was working with police in the investigation.
