Silent journey for Manuel Alvarez (29), victim of the Zwijndrecht ‘suitcase murder’ | homicide

An invitation to the silent tour has been circulated on social media. At 20:00, the participants leave the Parklaan on foot for a tour of the village to honor the deceased fellow citizen, father of three young children, for one last time. The journey takes about three quarters of an hour.

The ‘suitcase murder’ has been making for a few days lots of fun in Zwijndrecht but also in Rotterdam, where in a house on the Zevenkampse Ring been researching for days is being done. Men and women of the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) are trying to secure as many traces as possible in the Rotterdam home, where Alvarez was presumably killed. A 25-year-old man from Zwijndrecht is currently in custody on suspicion of the murder.

The suspect was initially arrested after a fight in his own home in the Kapitein Horsmanflat. He stated on the spot a homicide to have committed. The police then started a large-scale investigation that led to a parked Opel in Dordrecht. The remains of Alvarez were found in it.
