Ships finally meander through the Suez Canal: animals are allowed first | Abroad

During the blockade of the Suez Canal by the gigantic container ship Ever Given, concerns arose about the welfare of the livestock on board dozens of ships. However, shipping companies assured that there would be enough food and water for the animals on board.

The gigantic traffic jams of cargo ships are now beginning to resolve very slowly. To the south you can see a large string of boats, each sailing up the Red Sea near the city of Suez. Traffic heading north to Europe is likely to be resumed soon. Many of those ships will probably arrive in Rotterdam around the same time.

More than 400 sea ships are waiting to make the passage in convoy.

According to local authorities, it will take almost four days for all traffic jams to be resolved. It is expected that 113 of the 450 waiting ships will have made the passage by Tuesday morning.

The big culprit, Ever Given, is now in a large lake through which the Suez Canal also runs.
