What a parting gift it would be for Chelsea coach Emma Hayes. The national title seemed out of sight, but thanks to a monster 8-0 win over Bristol City, her team suddenly has the championship back in their own hands. Hayes, who is widely regarded as one of the best coaches in women’s football, will become United States coach after this season.
The title seemed out of sight for Chelsea, but leader Manchester City lost 1-2 to Arsenal today. Chelsea is now only three points behind City and can pass their competitor because they have one more game in hand. Moreover, thanks to those eight goals, Chelsea is one goal ahead on goal difference.
Chelsea still plays against Tottenham Hotspur (sixth place) and Manchester United (fifth place). Manchester City, the club of Dutch international Kerstin Kasparij, only plays against Aston Villa (seventh place).

Chelsea seemed to have taken into account scoring many goals against Bristol City, which is at the bottom. After Guro Reiten had already converted a penalty in the sixth minute, she grabbed the ball from the net to continue the match as quickly as possible.
