In order to be entitled to a pension for length of service and age, you must have reached the minimum retirement age and a certain length of service, writes Monitor bg.
The conditions for acquiring the first right to a pension for length of service and age according to the date of birth of the respective person for both the past and the present, as well as for the following years, are shown in the table below.
After December 31, 2037, age is associated with an increase in life expectancy.
The right to a pension is not extinguished by prescription.
This means that those who in 2020 and previous years have fulfilled the conditions for acquiring the right to a pension for length of service and age, will be able to retire in 2021 or in subsequent years, regardless of whether there are changes in retirement conditions.
In case the persons are not entitled to a pension under the above conditions, they acquire the right to a pension at the age of 66 years and 8 months for both sexes and a minimum of 15 years of actual insurance experience.
In assessing the right to a pension under Art. 68, para. 1-2 of CSR, related to the implementation of an international agreement to which the Republic of Bulgaria is a party, or the European regulations for coordination of social security systems, when only with the insurance experience under Bulgarian law the person does not acquire the right to a pension, but has at least 15 years of actual insurance experience and until the certification of the foreign insurance experience reaches the age under Art. 68, para. 3, a pension in the amount of the old-age social pension shall be granted, provided that the person does not receive another type of pension.
The persons who have the required insurance length of service under Art. 68, para. 2 of CSR, may, at their request, retire up to one year earlier than their age under Art. 68, para. 1.
The pension is granted from the date of the application and is paid for life, as its amount is reduced by 0.4 per cent for each missing month until the person reaches his age under Art. 68, para. 1. The persons, to whom a pension for SES has been granted in a reduced amount, shall not be entitled to a pension under art. 68, para. 1, 2 and 3 of CSR.
