A security guard has been injured in a drive-by shooting at Drake’s mansion in Toronto just days after Kendrick Lamar used an image of the lavish property in cover art for his new diss track against the rapper.

The shooting unfolded at around 2 am ET on Tuesday morning at the rapper’s Park Lane Circle residence in Toronto’s prominent Bridle Path neighborhood of Canada.

Toronto police reported that the security guard was shot in the chest outside the gates in front of the property by an unknown assailant.

The Toronto Police Service posted that one suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

The injured security guard, whose identity has not been disclosed, was not conscious when officers arrived on the scene. He was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment of his serious injuries.

While it remains unclear if Drake was at home during the incident, his team is fully cooperating with investigators.

The incident comes just days after Kendrick Lamar targeted Drake’s home in a diss track as part of an ongoing feud between the two rappers. Lamar released three separate diss songs about Drake within a span of 36 hours.

Soon after the diss track’s release, Lamar’s fans, showing their support, resorted to renaming parts of Drake’s neighborhood on Google Maps. Some notable changes including pins labeled as “kendrickownsdrake,” “CertifiedKidLover,” “Kendrick’s Pool,” and “ChildMOE-lester” appeared in the nearby area.

The feud between the two stars originated a month ago when Lamar criticized Drake and J Cole in his song, “First Person Shooter.”

In response, Drake released a diss track accusing Lamar of domestic violence, to which Lamar responded by alleging that Drake had a secret daughter.

In another song titled “Not Like Us,” Lamar labeled Drake a “certified paedophile” and made several references to Drake’s alleged interactions with younger women.

“Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young,” Lamar taunted, implying that Drake would have trouble dealing with his alleged interests. “You better not ever go to cell block one.”

To this day, the motive behind the shooting incident at Drake’s mansion remains under investigation, as stated by Paul Krawczyk from the police service’s Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force.
