Berlin (dpa / bb) – The CDU in the House of Representatives expects that the secondary schools in Berlin will remain closed until the end of February during the corona pandemic. “There is no reason to relax. And there is also no reason to believe that our children are less likely to be carriers of the infection than adults,” said the parliamentary group’s spokesman for education policy, Dirk Stettner, on Saturday on the RBB-Inforadio. He referred to a corresponding study from Bremen. In Berlin and Brandenburg there are winter holidays until February 6th.

The primary schools could be checked to see whether they could be reopened from mid-February, said Stettner. At the same time, however, suitable conditions must be provided: for example through air filter systems and the organization of additional space. It is important that the Senate communicate early so that schools and parents can plan. The current development of the corona infection numbers is very encouraging. However, it must be ensured that it is not loosened too quickly.

This week it became known that the examination dates for the Berlin high school graduates will be postponed against the background of the corona pandemic. The first written exam begins on April 21st instead of April 12th, as the Senate Department for Education announced on Wednesday.
