This Saturday morning, the Minister of Public Health, Maggie De Block (Open Vld), had expressed her concern and announced her wish to see the next National Security Council (CNS) meet earlier than planned.
“The minister is very worried, especially about the situation in Antwerp”, explained her spokesperson. According to the spokesperson, Ms. De Block felt that we should not wait until Friday before meeting the CNS. She pleaded for a meeting at the beginning of the week “to assess the situation and possibly take new measures”
His call was obviously heard since Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès announced on Twitter that the CNS would take place on Monday: “The National Security Council is meeting this Monday on the basis of a new report from Celeval. Objective: to consider additional national measures. A strong local approach is also fundamental for the most affected areas ”
