In recent days, the number of new coronavirus contaminations has continued to climb in Belgium. Something to worry about experts and political decision-makers. To the point that the National Security Council, which was to be held on Friday, August 1, has been brought forward. It has been meeting this Monday since 9am. On the program: reduction of the social bubble, stores and possible local measures. “It is very important today to see what can be done at the local or regional level”, explained Koen Geen this Monday morning to our colleagues at Radio 1. Provincial governors have, in fact, been invited to this CNS.
The Minister of Justice did not hide his concern about the evolution of the epidemic figures in our country. “None of us thought it would be that bad. We received a report on July 20 and a new one yesterday. A lot of things have changed in the meantime ”. Koen Geens has not ruled out the possibility of reducing the bubble of social contacts, which has become almost inevitable. “If there is one measure we have not taken, it is the bubble measure.”
