Suspect distorted news about Euromaidan, incited inter-ethnic conflicts, fomented separatist sentiments

SBU reported in absentia about suspicion in high treason to the former Ukrainian TV presenter Yuriy Kot, who previously worked on the Inter TV channel.

It is noted that in 2013-2014, the Cat was the host of the so-called Anti-Maidan in Kiev, after which he moved to live in Russia.

He publicly supported pro-Russian militants in the Donbass, worked for the state-run Russian news agency Rossiya Segodnya and the News Front news agency.

According to the SBU, the suspect distorted news about the Euromaidan, incited inter-ethnic conflicts, fomented separatist sentiments among Ukrainians and created a false image of part of the Ukrainian population as “national fascists.”

After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, Kot continued to support the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which he stated publicly. He ran his own Telegram channel Yuri Kot – Be kind!, where he distorted information and spread pro-Russian narratives.

Earlier it was reported that the State Bureau of Investigation was conducting searches on the channel of traitor deputy Alexei Kovalev, who suspected of treason.

Recall that in the former deputy head of the GUR is also suspected of treasonwho transmitted secret information about the current military-political situation in Ukraine to the Russian special services.
