Boy (18) dumped for hospital may be involved in explosives raid in Germany

The police in Rhein-Kreis Neuss confirms this to RTL Nieuws. The boy is seen as a possible suspect in the attack.

Last Friday, early in the morning, a seriously injured man was dropped off in front of the main entrance of the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven.

The car in which the victim was transported left immediately without leaving any details. After the hospital visit, the car probably drove to Amsterdam.

A police helicopter was used to search for the vehicle, but the car has not yet been found.

One and a half hours drive

The police immediately suspected that the man was involved in a crime in Germany. It now appears that the incident may be related to an explosion in Neuss, Germany, a town near Dusseldorf about an hour and a half drive from Eindhoven.

An ATM was blown up there that night around 3 a.m. According to the police, the damage was extensive and the local fire service had to be involved to extinguish the fire that had started in the explosion.

The boy, who according to NH Nieuws comes from Alkmaar, was dropped off at the hospital in Eindhoven a few hours later. The emergency room doctors took care of the young man last Friday.

The German police are now investigating whether the boy is involved in the explosion in Neuss. They are also looking for the other suspects.

It is unknown how the boy is now. The German detectives are in contact with him, but are not making any statements about his health or the ongoing investigation.

Valhalla for explosives

Germany is a Walhalla for explosives crackers, reports the Eindhovens Dagblad. Compared to the Netherlands, there are many more ATMs, and they are often quite old and therefore poorly secured.

The explosion in Neuss is therefore the umpteenth in a short time in the region. “I feel like it hits somewhere every four or five nights,” a local German agent told the newspaper. “And always in the border region: Düsseldorf, Krefeld, Cologne.”
