According to Babel’s interlocutors, officers from the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police are also taking part in the search. Journalist Vladimir Boyko wrote in Telegram, that according to his information, the Foreign Intelligence Service is conducting operational support of the case.

Centrenergo is a state-owned company, one of the largest electricity producers in the country. In the summer of 2019, a new management was appointed in the company, which is associated with the Privat group of Kolomoisky, wrote “Economic Truth”.
In 2020, the Schemes program (Radio Svoboda) reported that the companies “Record System”, “Sintez Oil” and “United Energy” connected with the businessman were selling coal and gas to “Centrenergo” at inflated prices. The journalists found out that in the fourth quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020, these firms earned UAH 4 billion on this. At the same time, Kolomoisky denies any connection with these companies.
In May 2020, the journalists of the project Bihus.info reported that the office “Centrenergo “moved from Kiev to Kozin, Kiev region. The enterprise is located in a sanatorium in the forest, along the perimeter it was covered barbed wire, there were concrete blocks and metal barricades, guarded the territory by the militarized security. Thus, the journalists assume, Kolomoisky tried to prevent a change in the management of the enterprise.
In February 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed a new head of Centrenergo, but a private security company (according to the Slidstvo.Info project, this were employees associated with a former MP Semyon Semenchenko of the organization “Doncorp Ukraine”) did not allow the head of the State Property Fund to enter the territory of the enterprise, blocking the process of replacing management. To get into the territory, the head of the SPF Dmitry Sennichenko had to involve law enforcement officers.
The state is going to put Centrenergo up for privatization. By information SPF, the company completed 2020 with UAH 50 million profit (at the end of 2019 it was UAH 2.2 billion of losses).
