Santiago Abascal will be the new president of Vox without submitting to elections | Politics

The Vox electoral committee only recognizes the candidacy presented as the only valid one since it assures that it is the one that has managed to collect the necessary number of guarantees to stand for the party’s internal election.

As the only one recognized, the electoral committee considers that the election in Vistalegre (Madrid) should not take place as Santiago Abascal was proclaimed directly on the same day that the party assembly is held.

This is reflected in the statement that this morning has been sent to the militants by the same committee that does not report the number of endorsements collected by that candidacy in which as secretary general he proposes to Javier Ortega Smith and Jorge Buxadé as first vice president. The sociologist Rafael Bardají, until now a member of the National Executive Committee, does not appear in that candidacy.

By recognizing Abascal’s as the only valid candidacy rejects the one headed by the Canarian doctor Carmelo González that he was dismissed a few more than a week ago as head of communication in the Canary Islands after having announced that he would dispute Abascal’s leadership of Vox.

The information sent to the members by the electoral committee does not specify the number of guarantees collected by that alternative list whose members study the possibility of challenging the decision that prevents them from appearing.
