During today’s meeting of the Inter-Party Committee for the European Elections, the ND refused to hold a debate as a whole, saying that the debates are being held in the presence of Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Parliament, according to SYRIZA-PS sources.
At the meeting, SYRIZA asked for a debate with all the political leaders and if there is an agreement on this, a second one between the prime minister and the official opposition leader. New Democracy, which was represented at today’s meeting by its director, Mr. Yiannis Smirlis, refused to hold a debate as a whole, saying that the debates take place with the presence of Kyriakos Mitsotakis in the Parliament.
Today’s meeting of the Inter-Party Committee for the European Elections on behalf of SYRIZA PS was attended by the Spokesperson Voula Kehagia and the Financial Director of the party, Christos Mavrokephalidis. On the part of the Opposition Officer, the leadership of the Ministry of the Interior was asked to clarify whether the break-in at the Ministry’s elections office on Friday is considered a serious incident, noting that it came at a time when an investigation into the leak of personal data is being conducted to the MEP of the ND, Anna Michele Asimakopoulou, while new information also emerges, according to the same sources..
From the Ministry’s side, it was said that the case has been taken over by the police and the cybercrime directorate, which controls the computers of the particular election directorate. An attempt was also made to downplay the incident as it was emphasized that nothing was stolen from the first information received by the Ministry and that so far no illegal or unauthorized access to the network has been found. The answers given do not satisfy the SYRIZA PS, which reserves the right to closely monitor this case.
